Gail Simpson is the founder, business owner, and one of the trainers at SCTC. She founded SCTC 30 years ago and has been at this same facility the entire time. That's relatively unheard of in the horse industry. Those who know Gail appreciate her no-nonsense approach to the horse business. She is assisted by her co-trainers, Cassie Yurick and Abby Hughes, as well as, instructor Stephanie Everth. All three trainers contribute the right qualities to make this place run smoothly.
Founder & Trainer
Gail Simpson, first and foremost, enjoys what she does. She’s trained horses pretty much her entire life. She’s enjoyed numerous Top 10s at the National level while creating many National Champion Amateur Riders, both adult and youth competitors. She works with people to identify and then fulfill their goals with horses - whether riding well for the pure pleasure of it or aspirations of national titles. As Gail would say, “If you’re happy, I’m happy.” She’s also a Certified Arabian Horse Judge. Gail’s training focus is in hunt seat, western pleasure, and saddle seat.
Gail lives in Lakeland, Minnesota with husband Robb ("Big Dog"), English bull dog, Hugo, and Australian Shepherd, Gunner. She is the proud mother of two grown sons, Cory and Casey and mother-in-law to Lindsay (Casey’s wife) and grandsons Crosby and Cullen.
Cassie started taking lessons with Gail when she was 8 years old and owned two horses throughout the years, in which she competed in hunter pleasure and equitation at local, regional, and national Arabian horse shows. She has gained show experience in saddle seat, western pleasure, show hack, and sidesaddle, as well. She has also been directing our summer horse camps. After completing college, she became a full-time trainer with SCTC. She has a passion for training young horses and teaching her horse knowledge to kids and adults of all ages and experience levels.
Abby joined our team in 2016. She is originally from Janesville, WI and grew up in the Arabian horse industry and owned two horses, which she competed in 4-H, as well as the Class A circuit. She recently graduated with a Communications degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and is now full-time with SCTC. She loves teaching her knowledge of horses to all of her students and loves all the horse training aspects.
Stephanie has been instructing with SCTC since the spring of 2018. She’s owned horses most of her life and has been riding for as long as she can remember. Instructing with SCTC has inspired Stephanie to seek out her degree in Agricultural Education at The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, with the intent to continue growing as an educator. She proudly instructs the SCTC Summer Camps and many lessons as well.
